Born in Portugal in 2017, Reckon.ai was created by two young engineers from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, who realized the transformative power of combining Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and Retail.
Together they developed a new concept and technologies to create Smart Stores and Smart Spaces that can operate on their own, 24/7, without human intervention. This technology can be deployed to any space – whether it is retrofitting a 3sqm cabinet or smarting a 30sqm full store from scratch. Reckon.ai has also developed the Microstore technology which allows vending operators to transform a space into a smart store.
Ana Pinto, CEO Reckon.ai commented, “It is a pleasure to join EVA. Reckon.ai aims to bring AI-powered grab & go technology for autonomous checkout at scale, and so we view EVA membership as a crucial step to become part of the European ecosystem and to start partnering with different European players.
We believe in innovation and collaboration as key to dramatically accelerate the transformation of the smart vending – towards better customer experiences, 24/7 always-connected data, more sustainable solutions and lower opex. This is an exciting moment in this industry, and we want to help shape its future together with EVA and its members.”
Erwin Wetzel, the EVA Director General, is pleased to see the company join the Association, “It is clear the industry is starting to transition to new consumer demands; operators are thus considering adapting their traditional offering and are increasingly looking at alternative and more connected solutions, such as smart fridges and smart unattended stores. Reckon.ai is well placed to tap into this exciting period of change and as an EVA Member the company can now take full advantage of meeting the key industry players and availing of various visibility opportunities at our events like EVEX, among many other EVA benefits.”
Reckon.ai, based in Porto, joins the EVA as a Full Member.
