EVA TMP

EVA Temperature Measurement Protocol

The EVA TMP tests the effectiveness of the refrigeration system of refrigerated food vending machines to maintain air at a given temperature.

Operators would be ensured that the machine they are buying will reach the temperature as announced.

The test results provided by the EVA TMP serve as a basis for comparison with other machines. Each country defines, by law, the temperature limit above which certain potentially hazardous food may be stored and the results generated from this protocol will be of particular use when trying to select a machine for a certain type of food. The test results provided by the EVA TMP serve as a basis for comparison with other machines. Advantages

  • By using the standards, the measured temperature is objective and comparable. The information is thus more useful for the operator.
  • Because the method is uniform and objective, fair competition is stimulated.
  • It has been drafted by industry representatives for use in vending, so it is relevant and to the point.
  • A Europe-wide recognised standard for temperature measurement improves the image of the vending industry in Europe, as a responsible trade of high quality standards.

Who is going to use the EVA TMP?

The protocol will be used by vending machine manufacturers, who are already declaring the temperature on their machines, but in this case, will be able to refer to a commonly accepted protocol: EVA TMP.

Relation with other Temperature Measurement Protocol

  • The EVA Hygiene Committee has also participated in the draft by monitoring the HACCP issue.
